Mentoring Faculty for Mission helped senior administrators at church-related colleges and universities consider ideas and best practices for helping new, mid-career, and senior faculty embrace and forward the church-related mission of their institutions. Specifically, the workshop addressed such questions as:

  • How can faculty members at all stages of their careers be nurtured to embrace the heritage and mission of their particular church-related institutions?

  • What kinds of programs and practices are most effective in encouraging faculty, both new and seasoned, to explore the complex relationship between higher learning and the Christian faith?

  • How can church-related schools most successfully stimulate faculty to embody an institutional mission in their understanding of academic vocation?

In conjunction with its annual National Conference, the Lilly Network of Church-Related Colleges and Universities sponsors an annual Workshop for Senior Administrators of Lilly Network institutions. These workshops are arranged within the National Network and are offered at no cost to senior administrators at Lilly Network member institutions.

Each institution is eligible to register one senior administrator (president, vice president, academic dean, provost, or equivalent) or, given the topic, a relevant administrator. One academic administrator from an LFP Network school may attend the Workshop for Senior Administrators at no cost. Accommodations, meals, and travel reimbursements of up to $600 will be provided for those who register by September 12, 2017. Space is limited; additional participants from member schools will be waitlisted until September 12 and will be enrolled as slots become available after that date.

New edition of Leading Lives that Matter released

In their second edition of Leading Lives That Matter, editors Mark Schwehn and Dorothy Bass compile a wide range of texts—from ancient and contemporary literature, social commentary, and philosophy—related to questions of vital interest for those who are trying to decide what to do with their lives and what kind of human beings they hope to become. Leading Lives that Matter has been an important text in many of our fellowship and grant programs, and it contains excellent resources. Click here for more information and an excerpt.
